The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, Namibia is a longstanding partner organisation of INTERTEAM and is committed to deliver an equitable and inclusive education for all children and adolescents.


As a part of the INTERTEAM Country Programme Namibia we contribute significantly to a better education for all children and adolescents. To achieve this goal the Directorate of Education Kavango West aims to improve the implementation of the Inclusive Education Policy. One approach is the training of teachers, school principals and school inspectors in regarding inclusive education methods, didactics and strategies. That is why we are looking for a professional who is able to conduct the following tasks:

  • Create awareness about inclusive education instruction possibilities
  • Plan, organize and conduct in-service teacher training workshops to improve effective teaching strategies, assessment, etc.
  • Undertake individual and team school visits to do classroom observations, demonstration lessons, advice teachers and principals on improvement strategies
  • Develop a mechanism for the monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of Sector Policy on Inclusive Education


General requirements:

  • Successfully completed studies
  • Min. 2 years of professional working experience
  • Minimum age of 26 years
  • Domicile in Switzerland
  • Good physical and mental health
  • High level of social and self-competence
  • Intercultural sensitivity
  • Interest in development policy and social conditions
  • Willingness to an adapted life style


Specific requirements:

  • Formation as primary or secondary school teacher with broad method knowledge
  • Sensitivity for inclusive education
  • Experience in training of trainers, workshop facilitation, monitoring and evaluation of teachers work
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Very good knowledge of written and oral English
