Partner organisation:
Waldorf School Windhoek (WSW) is a private school for the first up to the thirteenth grade with an integrated “Basic Vocational Education and Training” (BVET) for the eighth up to the eleventh grade. This BVET programme forms part of the national initiative by the Ministry of Education of introducing vocational training in the general school curriculum.

As a part of the INTERTEAM Country Programme Namibia we contribute significantly to a better education for all children and adolescents and preparation for the academic and vocational stream. Our partner organisation WSW seeks to implement a fully functional vocational training programme that leads to the awards of national vocational qualifications in different occupation groups, for example in "Office Administration". This setup requires among other things curriculum and programme development as well as capacity development of the school and its personnel. To support this project we are looking for a professional who is able to conduct the following tasks:

  • Providing project-based training for grade 8 - 11 students in office administration and entrepreneurship
  • Capacity building of BVET teachers
  • Possible involvement in curriculum development

General requirements:

  • Successfully completed studies/apprenticeship
  • Min. 5 years of professional working experience
  • Minimum age of 30 years
  • Domicile in Switzerland
  • Good physical and mental health
  • High level of social and self-competence
  • Intercultural sensitivity
  • Interest in development policy and social conditions
  • Willingness to an adapted life style

Specific requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in operations, management and retail services (including entrepreneurship)
  • Methodical and didactical competences
  • Experience as vocational trainer would be an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of written and oral English
